ND Filters adding tint?
Gentlemen,
I have a demo EX 1 and have set it up by eye, 3200k, matching to the subject to the monitor after setting bars on the CRT.
Took the camera outside with the same knee point, gamma, etc.
White balanced to 6300.
Used a polarizer and at times since the sun was blocked out, took off the cameras ND filter for proper exposure. The clouds had a pink hue to them. Even the grass seemed a little red. I thought it looked redder when the ND filters were on.
I was using the High Sat setting on the Color matrix since the client wants that look so the product pops.
Could this be due to the white balance?
Knee point?
Slope?
Which setting(s) is/are messing me up?Matrix settings (on):
*High Sat
Level : +60
All other settings : 0*Knee (On)
Auto : Off
Point : 80
Slope : +26
Sat level : 0*Gamma
Level : +25
Select: Stnd 1*Black : 0
*Black Gamma : 0
*Low Key Sat : 0
These looked good on an HD Sony studio monitor (CRT).
Looked a bit red on the editors LCD and my home LCD. (Yes I know that LCDs can have a red tint to them).
The clouds were just too pink for my taste. Where did my whites go?Any level-setting suggestions would be welcome.
When are those EX 3’s gonna get here?
Thanks,
Paul
