I purchased a 1.8 ND filter to put over my T2i. The reason was to reduce the amount of light coming into the camera while shooting outside. I get annoyed watching DSLR footage shot at a high shutter speed. I wanted the more natural motion blur you’d get from a real video camera.

The problem is that the ND filter turned my footage a hazy brownish color. Yes, it blocked light. But it changed the color. The brand of filter was Formatt.

Is this normal? Does an ND filter have an adverse affect on color? Isn’t it supposed to be “neutral?”
