Can I move/copy nattress plugins and use them on multiple systems?
I currently edit on multiple systems most are either FCP 4 or HD others and one is FCP 5… I want to know if I pay to download the nattress film plugins will I be able to use the same files on each system? Or will I need to pay to download the plugins to each system?

The easiest thing to do to keep your “right” is just to buy as many copies as you need. However, I have no objection to one copy being used on multiple systems as long as those systems are not being used concurrently. For example, if you have a laptop and a desktop with FCP on it, and you only use one at a time, and while you’re using the laptop, nobody else is editing on the desktop, or the other way around, then I’m happy to sell you just one copy. If you have multiple edit stations and say you render on one, while editing on the other, you shoudl buy enough copies of my plugins to cover this multiple usage.

    Does that help?

    Graeme,
I wont be using the plugins on multiple systems simultaneously… I’m sorry that wasn’t clear
    in my original post…

Currently I edit on a FCP 5 system… however… In the next 6 months I may be editing on another system…

The thing is, I don’t own any of the systems I edit on… I am a student and I edit
on school systems… That’s why I want to download your plugin to my external hard drive and then copy the plugins to whatever system I am using at the time… I just wanted to ask that way I didn’t pay 100 bucks to install something on a computer that doesn’t belong to me… only to later find out that I can’t use the plugin on another system… Really my question was ‘are your plugins licensing agreements specific to a single system or copy of FCP?’

When switching systems I have no problem deleting the plugins from the system I am leaving… My intention is not to leave a trail of free plugins behind me… in fact… I pretty sure installing any plugins would be against my school’s usage policy…

Thank you very much for your time,
    AnDy

That’s fine Andy. As long as you’re not simulataneously using, you’re ok legally. However, you could just ask your college to buy a licence for every FCP they have, and that would make me very very happy! 🙂 WOuld be cheaper and easier for you too. Or are my plugins your secret weapon to make your video look better than the other student’s?

You may need to have some kind of admin access to install them, so try out the demo first to make sure you can do that.

Graeme- “are my plugins your secret weapon to make your video look better than the other student’s?”
You got it man… actually… I’m interested in both the the standard conversion and film plugins. I’m looking for an easy and effect method of incorporating PAL footage in an ntsc timeline and visa versa.
I already downloaded both demo versions. If I can figure out how to use cinematools then I will compare the render times to your plugin…

As for making my school buy a lincense for each of there systems… I wish I could convince them to buy a lot of things…

    Thanks again,
    AnDy

what you could do is use a USB key and just put an alias in the plugin folder that way you can move them around when you go to school and back
