Hi all i have been given some video clips from istock video 1280 x 720 Photo jpeg 30fps p? also another clip which is 29.97 fps,. I need them to play in a pal 25fps timeline for broadcast sd PAL sequence. I have tried using natress convertor to convert it seems to do an ok job however the image goes from nice and sharp to a bit soft any ideas guys. Cheers Emmet

The picture will soften just a bit.

Thats what you get for that price point of pal conversion.

Spend more transferring it through a terranex if that doesn’t suffice.

If the audio is not critical then Cinema Tools will do a good job, without motion artifacts.

There are no “artifacts” in a Natress PAL conversion.

There can be if you use compressor.

The slightly softer picture has to do with the picture being enlarged nearly 100 pixels.
720×486 becomes 720×576 and a slightly different pixel ratio. In that regard it makes perfect sense that the picture would be slightly soft.

the only thing that could make it better is an expensive hardware device like a Teranex.

    fyi
