  Native widescreen?

  I am currently looking for a new DVCAM camera and I’m considering the Sony DSR-500ws. This camera is native widescreen and has 950 lines of resolution. I was told that when a native widescreen camera is switched to 4:3, it crops the edges and stretches the entire image to fill the screen. Therefore, reducing the resolution of the 4:3 image. Is this true?

  I’ve been warned against a native widescreen camera, since 75% of what I shoot is standard 4:3.

  Also, will PrPro 1.5 capture and edit 4:2:2 color information?
