Can Final Cut Pro interact with MOV format, H.264/AVC, IMA-ADPCM (stereo) files? Can any do it natively?

I’m beginning to seriously consider buying a Casio Exilim EX F1. If you don’t know anything about the camera, it’s a point and shoot ‘still’ camera that happens to shoot full HD 1080p and also can do true slow motion up to 1,200 fps. There are a lot of mitigating factors about that, but it’s still pretty freaking cool.

Natively no. H.264 is a great codec for internet delivery, and it’s even one of the codecs for Blu Ray discs, but it is a terrible codec to edit with. I want to shoot to any serious capacity, that does not sound like the camera you want do it on.

    Hi Josh,
FC is not ready to work with H264. Guess son will be.
I imagine that you will need to transcode to Proress or so.
Same workflow that for the Canon 5D MK2.
Make a search in this forum.
There is already some threads abou.

    Hi Richard,
H264 is also the Intraframe 422/10b that PANASONIC is using in his new line of cameras.
The wind is blowing from the h264 side.
Haven’t see pictures from the Cassio, but the pictures from the Canon are incredible.
Those cameras are just a first generation. In a couple of years the actual concept of a video camera will be obsolete.
