I was getting the “upstream pipestall” error on importing files so wanted to shift an external drive from a hub to a motherboard USB port in the hope of keeping up with the CPU.. when I did this Avid couldn’t find the media even though I checked that the drive letters were the same.. any thoughts on why this might be?

No need to keep the drive letter the same. Media should live in Avid MediaFiles/MXF/n (where ‘n’ is any number), and this folder should be at the root level of the drive and MC should then find it.

Thanks, Job,- yes, I understand that that’s the theory.. but something else was going on here.. only when I switched the USB leads back to the way they were was Avid willing to locate the .MXF files! Hey ho..
