So many drives to choose from, getting dizzy here ☺
Need to create a simple RAID 0 using a Pegasus2 R4 so I’m shopping for drives.
It seems some drives are labeled NAS.
For my needs is this okay to use?
I need it to store RED files possibly read them but not edit.

I picked up Ironwolf 6TB 7200RPMs for now.

HGST has always been somehow the one I gravitate towards, but the Ironwolf range is pretty solid in my view.

If you go for densities above 8x then it pays to go pro (or enterprise) , but for small enclosures they’re perfectly fine.

Ultimately you get what you pay for, but I doubt these will cause too many issues when used inside the manufactures guidelines.

Currently, this is a stop-gap solution due to a poorly organized film shoot.
As long as I can extract all the data from the Windows box I’m happy.

    Question though.
What are people using to move from PC to Mac with RAID sets?
I’m usually in a server environment but this current setup is closed off.

[Eric Santiago] “What are people using to move from PC to Mac with RAID sets?”

I use Resilio to mirror my media from a PC raid to a Mac raid. Resilio is a simple program that syncs everything and moves the data either over wifi or ethernet. I use ethernet and get around 120 MBPS speed.

    Hi Eric,

there is a compatibility list from Promise for the R4/R6.
You can use Sata HD`s from this list, all Drives used in your enclosure
    must be the same.

    Cheers
