Anyone know what this “nag” screen is that comes up everytime I open Vegas 8 or now 7? Something about do I want to associate all veg files etc…..

Geez this sounds like a QT nag? What gives” How do I get rid of it. I’m still using both 7 & 8 and I want my V7 files to stay with 7 and the 8 files to stay with 8 unless I decide to open a VEG 7 file in 8. Then it can’t go back as I understand it.

    Happy holidays to all

You need to pick one or the other. BOTH programs use “VEG” and it can only be associated to one or the other. At the point you keep going back and forth. Just pick one and then tell the other one NO. You can always right-click the VEG file and specify which version to open it in.

    Okay, Thanks Ed
I don’t ever remember this “nag” screen when I went from 3-4-5-7. Just after I install 8 pro and left 7 installed.

I believe it was added in either 6 or 7. Previously, the last install simply took control. Later they gave you the option of whether or not the last install should take control.

    Hi Ed
Well, I keep clicking Yes, for V7 and no for 8. The screen still comes up every time I open 7. Haven’t opened 8 for a while.

    Hmmmmm

Is there a “don’t ask me again” checkbox?

Nope! Just a “Notify me if other applications modify these settings”

I’ve tried leaving it check and unchecking it. ugh!

Never got this before I installed V8pro. Didn’t get it when I first installed V7 with V5 still installed.
