NAB Show Honors Excellence in Sustainability Awards Winners
NAB Show today celebrated sustainability champions in six categories during its annual Excellence in Sustainability Awards ceremony. Judged by an independent panel of experts, award winners were recognized as individuals, companies and products/services for outstanding innovations in media technology that promote sustainability and foster economic and social development. Amazon Web Services (AWS) supported the awards ceremony.
“NAB Show is proud to recognize the individuals and companies leading the way in sustainability in our industry,” said Chris Brown, executive vice president and managing director, NAB Global Connections and Events. “As we celebrate our collective commitment to environmental responsibility and the creation of a more sustainable future for our industry, we hope to inspire innovation and encourage best practices in areas such as energy efficiency, waste reduction and sustainable content production. We thank AWS for its support of this award program.”

NAB Show and AWS selected The Sustainable Entertainment Society as the recipient of proceeds from the Excellence in Sustainability Awards Program. Melanie Windle, executive director of The Sustainable Entertainment Society, accepted the donation.

The awards ceremony was preceded by a panel discussion Exploring HBO’s True Detective Night Country: A Discussion on Sustainability in Modern Production. The insightful discussion explored the intersection of the acclaimed television series HBO’s True Detective Night Country and modern principles of sustainability in production. Executive Producer Mari Jo Winkler-Ioffreda shared the show’s approach to sustainability.
