My only wonderment at the moment is….

If, in fact, Apple is the de facto leader in technology and heralds “what’s to come” on a broader scale, does that mean we should expect such autocratic behavior from the rest of the industry manufacturers? That is to say, if those who are so loudly proclaiming FCPX’s launch a “success” are even remotely correct, we will soon see other manufacturers attempt to follow the trend?

Are we soon to see all the other NLE and OS builders in a headlong rush to code for cloud based appliances in ever more isolated world of proprietary walling off of our tools? Dumbed down applications? More and more third party reliance creating ever more difficult upgrade paths for anything other than the most rudimentary of functioning?

Seems like the world is ripe for another Steve Jobs to come along and start a new way of thinking, all over again.

Peach Computers anyone? The Apple’s are getting sour these days and I’m craving the sweetness of all the years gone by.
