    Boy,
wouldn’t it be great, if Blackmagic offered an OpenGear chassis under the Blackmagic name at NAB ? This way, it could be sold thru the normal dealer network, instead of the HI PRICES “professional VAR” dealers, and it would make it easier to get people to buy the Blackmagic converter series in rack form, instead of all the “little boxes” dangling off the back of the racks.

I can’t even imagine what else is being introduced at NAB. I already got my wish with the new V1.2 driver release for the Ultrascope (maybe Blackmagic will qualify the HP Z200).

    Well, well, well,

it looks like Blackmagic DOES offer an open frame chassis –
    Blackmagic Part # DRF-8321-C-P

but it must be a secret, because I certainly can’t find it on the Blackmagic-Design website !

I have one, and love it completely. I would suggest getting the one with the better networking ability. The base one leaves a little bit to be desired. I would like to see Black Magic make a sync card that will sync to a house master sync. So instead of their Sync card having 10 outputs, having 9 outs and one input. That would be awesome!
