I don’t want to get into the likes and dislikes of the HVX200 but I do want to express that I really liked Panasonic’s setup for the camera. I don’t know how many of you made it to NAB but I thought it very informative. Mr. Barry Braverman did an excellent job along with another fellow ( sorry cannot remember his name) did a very good job on showing us how to set up the camera in different modes. I think the seperate pods for information on the camera was a good idea. Thanks to Panasonic and all others that made it a good show to be at

I’m obviously biased but I do think it’s telling that at NAB 2005 there was one HVX under glass and at NAB 2006 there were a couple of dozen HVX’es all around the booth while most other Panasonic camera shown were the only one of their kind. Clearly this is the main camera in Panasonic’s arsenal right now.

[Noah Kadner] “Clearly this is the main camera in Panasonic’s arsenal right now.”

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that,I would say that there are that many customers wanting further explanation on the camera, and the thought of havng them all line up and try to get a look on one or two cameras seemed like a really dumb idea. So we took a page out of the software guys books and thought how do we apply this to a whole bunch of folks that want to learn about this little camera.

See, I think that HDX900 is a pretty hot camera, tape based but very cool, and the VariCam continues to be my ultimate favorite. I mean there just wasn’t enough space for everything, we had to farm out the SDX900s to other vendors to show, and it still sells outstandingly well. The DVX is also very important but again when you start to find your way through booth design and what the messaging is you have to show what people will want to see, and this year, we thought it to be the HVX.

I mean you and Shane were totally up to your ears in customers all the way through the show, with the difference on Thursday being that you only had to talk to one at a time. 😉 You guys were so good.
