My Youtube quality sucks.
Posted by Steve C. on July 30, 2007 at 3:46 pmThe quality of my uploads on Youtube is poor. What is the best format to use to go from FC to Youtube (because it’s sure not what I’m using–Quicktime)?

July 30, 2007 at 3:51 pmTry doing a search for youtube in the COW forums and you’ll find hundreds of posts about this.

July 30, 2007 at 5:24 pmI was wondering the same thing. I am new to CreativeCow, and don’t understand how you can type in youtube and find the listing. All I see is forums and no place to type in a descriptive word. Am I missing something here?
Thanks

Just under the name of the forum at the top of the post where it says:

July 30, 2007 at 5:55 pmI’m not sure whether this is the case anymore (since YouTube is converting much of its library to H264) but YouTube did use flash video exclusively. Meaning that whenever you upload something that was compressed, but not as a flash video file, it would get compressed again into flash video. The workaround was to compress it yourself into flash video, then YouTube wouldn’t re-compress it at all.
I’m not sure if this is still the case, or if you can now use H264 as well.
