  My XHA1 will only now playback DV footage and not HDV

  I recently connected a Sony A1 to the Canon XHA1 via firewire to try and down-convert HDV footage to DV – not realising at the time that the Sony could do this on its own. I thought i’d changed all the menu settings back but now the Canon will only playback DV tapes and not the old HDV ones. I’ve gone back to the menu many times and changed and reset many settings but with no luck.
  Can anyone help?
