  • my site is someone’s Google Adword – What to do?

I’ve recently been in communications with a fellow company in my industry that told me that another competitor has been using both our company names to pull in clicks with Google AdWords.

Is this legal? What can I do?

    Many thanks for the expertise,
    Clint

This is not legal. You can contact Google and report this.

Google Adwords attempts to automatically have checks and filters so this doesn’t happen but sometimes things slip through.

Google is pretty good at “not being evil”. They should help you out, but in my experience it could take days if not weeks to get it sorted out. You also should have your company information on letterhead, etc, as well as being prepared to prove you’re a licensed business.
