  • My particles don’t render into my movie? (Motype)

Posted by Robert Combs on April 20, 2009 at 8:08 pm

    Hi all,
I’ve created some animated text with Yanobox’s Motype plug-in and I must say it’s looking pretty good. Everything has been created within the Motype plug-in. It’s got a nice 3D move and particles whirling around my letters. However, when I try to render this into a movie file the particles I just mentioned are no longer present !?!?! I’m using the animation CODEC. I can’t figure out why this is happening.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I’m really stuck here. Yanobox has not replied to my question and I’m running out of time.

    Thanks again,
    Rob

    p.s.
I’m Running AE CS4 on a Mac running OS 10.5.6

    thanks

It seems the problem occurs only with “field rendering” enabled.. 🙁

Does that happen sometimes? … parts of a plug-in don’t work when field rendering a movie?

    thanks

This is the first that I’ve heard of such an issue with any plugin. Never heard of the plugin as well.

there may be some sort of bug with the plugin… i’m not sure why a field render would give it issues, but if it renders without fields, then the work around is pretty simple….

unless you are working in 24p (23.976 fps) set your comp to double the frame rate. i.e., if it’s at 29.97fps, set it to 59.94fps. render that out without fields, then import it back into ae. put the render into a comp that is the correct frame rate (by my earlier example, 29.97fps). then choose to render with fields in the render settings.

if it is 24p, then render it out at that frame rate (23.976fps), import it back in, put it in a new comp that is also 23.976fps but when you render set to render fields and add a pulldown to the render. this will bring the footage up to 29.97fps.

    Thanks Kevin,
That’s a helpful work around! I’ll definitely do this. Thanks!

    p.s. I’ve sent 3 emails to Motype’s support address. I still haven’t heard a peep. nothing.
