My Motion 3.0 text looks like crap in FCP
Please reference this screenshot:

Here’s what happens:
A. I make a Motion file, and it looks beautiful (reference ” 2. “)
B. I copy that Motion file, and I use the EXTACT SAME file and text, just change the words.
C. As you can see, it looks like CRAP (see ” 1. “)
D. CAN YOU HELP? This makes NO SENSE. Why is it so pixelated and crappy looking?
Neither of these have helped me AT ALL.

I’d suggest rendering in Motion instead and dragging the render into FCP instead of the Motion project directly.

Well that’s super fine red text on a black BG- not too mention viewing probably on FCP’s half-res proxy screen. That’s about the worst possible combo you could create…

For reasons I don’t understand, the font looks beautiful in white —- terrible in red, good in white, and a few other colors —- this is nuts!! (isn’t it?)

What codec are you rendering to? If DV, it’s terrible for text, and the worst for red text.

Did you check the interlace flag in FCP. Sometimes NONE gets switched to LOWER.

Hello!
I’ve been going to HDV, but I also tried it in other codecs like Apple ProRes, and it still looked horribly pixelated.
Why is red so bad?? Why does the COLOR affect the pixelation?

Either view your bins as list to see this info, or Apple-9 the text in
question, this brings up object properties in FCP. -
Make sure your motion project is set to best in the render settings.
