My LAST and FINAL DPX question
If have DPX’s that are odd pixel dimensions (1868×780). The edges of the frames show a hint of the perforation. Should I edit the film, then crop this out? Or should I crop it out in each individual DPX stack, and place the stack in a standard pixel size canvas (1920 x 1080)?
I figure, If i work with this footage at 1868 x 780, I am going to have to crop it at some point.

I would crop as a last step, perhaps in your online or colour correct.
First, though, I would ask the post house why my DPX’s have a) the perf in the frame and b) why they aren’t 2048 pixels wide.

I am assuming the fact that I shot with 2 perf 35mm has something to do with the odd frame size. What I was told by the scanner was that he used the marquee tool to define the scan area and that is how we got to the size of 1868 x 780. I don’t actually see the perforation, just about 1 or 2 pixels width of the edge. He said that it isn’t 2048 because the area on the negative where the optical track would be is empty.
