When creating a Standard Definition 4:3 composition in AE, to be exported as a OMF for use in Avid Media Composer Adrenaline, I would use the aspect ratio of 720 x 486. Never had a problem.

I’m now trying to do the same with a 16:9 composition and am not sure what Comp Setting I should use to insure AE will create a OMF movie. In using the Preset of NTSC D1 Widescreen Square Pixel (864×486)I get an AE Error: Cannot output to OMF because the image size is too large.

When I create a QT to import into Avid, I get and image that looks letterboxed AND stretched in the 16:9 mode.

Is this enough to try and get some help from folks?

    Thanks for your consideration,

When you are ready to render, you need to resize the project to 720×486 in the output module settings. The codec will only take that sizing. When the avid reads the file it will stretch it back out to 864×486.
