  My file are given to me

  I don’t have a HD camera yet, so I was given a lot of mov files from a mac. And it needs to be returned back to a mac for a possible job. but the files are 1080 and I just can’t get the files into the program ( premiere pro2 ) they come up white. What is going on?
  Also if I capture into premiere then export out into a mov file it looks so soft and boxy on the mac. Is there a file format that looks great on both systems?
