Suddenly my BM Extreme card is exhibiting white horizontal lines that seem to be affected by luminance values of the video image. I have checked all connections, uninstalled drivers and updated to latest MAC 5.6 drivers, but so far nothing gets rid of the problem. Next, I will swap cables, and reseat the card. If the card is indeed going bad, what exactly is Decklink’s warranty proceedure, and how long is the warranty period? I have had this card for just under a year.

    Hi David,

We’ll be happy to replace the card if it is indeed defective. Don’t worry about the warranty status.

Can you let me know if this problem is happening on the SDI or analog outputs?

Also, have you tried this card in another slot or Mac as well as another monitoring device?

    regards

    Hi Kristian,

Thanks for responding so fast and for being so supportive.

Just so you know, I have been using the Extreme card without incident with my FCP system since I bought it nearly a year ago. This issue just popped up last Friday with no changes and no movement of any system components. I monitor analog via component out to a broadcast monitor, and the issue seems to be somewhat intermittent. I am unable to try the card in a different computer as I have just one MAC, but I will try to reseat it and will also try a different slot if that doesn’t work. I only have one monitor as well. I will keep you posted as to my findings.

    Thanks again for being there,
    DRW
