My exported file from Compressor looks too wide
I’m a newbie with FCP and Compressor but I wanted to know how to solve this problem I got last night.
I started off in FCP with importing .mov files from my Firestore (shot on a Panasonic HVX200 in 720p), edited it and then exported the .mov file to Compressor with current settings (unchanged).
In compressor, I chose to use “DVD: Best Quality 90 minutes” (MPEG-2 6.2Mbps 2-Pass). I went into the Quality tab and raised up the Maximum and Average Bit Rates as far as they could go. I then submitted the file and it saved fine. I went into DVD Studio Pro and burned it normally.
My video looks really wide now, not good at all. I’m guessing I didn’t do something in Compressor to make it look this way?
Should I have changed something in the Video Format then (Aspect Ratio)? Do my movie files have to be 16:9 or 4:3?
I’m completely lost right now but all I know is my video coming out of FCP looked fine, so somewhere in Compressor I messed up.
Can someone give me any help with this?
TIA,
DaleP.S. Dumb question but are the clips coming from the HXV200 in native 16:9 or 4:3?
