I hope I am not beating a dead horse here, but I found some audio in my timeline on my G5 that was 44.khz and most of it was 48khz. I know you guys are saying that a different audio rate will cause problems, but I can’t get the same problems to occur on my G4PPC. I moved the drive with the session that was giving me problems from my G4PPC to my G5. BTW, I had fully mixed the project and exported it to QT and an .avi and burned a DVD, Everything was fine. I opened the exported QT file (that I burned to the DVD) back in FCP on my G5 and the show times out perfectly, but the audio and video plays at a slower rate and lower pitch. I also trashed my preference files. In addition I took out a plug in (line 6 for podxt live. I don’t know how it made it into FCP. Just before I finished writing this reply I hooked the questionable project drive up to the G4, opened the session and playback was fine. I am really freaked here. I have a lot of money tide up in a G5 and is my bread and butter. As I also mentioned earlier, QT files brought in off of a firestore FS100 played slow in QT as well. I looked at them and they are 29.95 and at 48khz 16bit. I know these machines aren’t identical, but the G5 shouldn’t be doing this. I haven’t called Apple care yet, becuase I am not covered on FCP, only on the hardware and the OS. Could a sound card be going, or could my video card the radeon x800xt be going. I am three years to mac and don’t know the inner workings, I assume the sound driver and video card are completely unrelated. I also updated my Pro tools software to the latest 7.0 release to be sure it was not causing problems.

As a told a colleague last night, I think I am the first guy to break FCP and an apple product.
