I cannot get anything onto my desktop. I am running OSX 10.3.9. When I click “info” for the desktop it tells me it is locked but the “lock” buttton is greyed out so I cannot unlock it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have tried changing my permissions to read and write for all users, I repair my disk permissions very often but that has not helped me here, when I do try to drag a file onto the desktop it asks me to authorize, whcih I do but then it tells me that I have insuffiscient privledges to write to the desktop. I never actaually locked it purposely. Confused.

    Thanks
    Luke.

Enable root user and log in as root change your permissions back so that your admin (501) user is the owner of his desktop folder again.

Ok, tried that, when I tried to change the owner of the desktop it said an unexpected error occured, error code 60002. Ah well, I hate a cluttered desktop anyway, just a nusance and a very curious problem.
