My after effects wont start up

Try Trashing your preferences file. On my PC they are located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Aharon Z Rabinowitz\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\Prefs

The file is called “Adobe After Effects 6.5 Prefs.txt”

Sometimes the file gets corrupt, and when AE tries starting up, it crashes. Don’t worry, when AE restarts (Assuming it can) it will create a new Prefs file.

i just tried that and it didn’t work 🙁 the problem is that i’ve never once had it run successfully…

If it never worked, you’re best contacting adobe. You are entitled to 90 days of support after you install the software – starting from your first call.

Go to the adobe website to get the support number, and then call them.
