MXO news “Color Support”
Posted by Wayne on November 22, 2007 at 10:46 pmI was just on the MXO user forum where I saw they have a beta version that supports Color!!!
Check it out, I’ve downloaded it and am going to give it a go.
This, from what I read, is not the patch they released a few weeks ago, its a full beta preview.
It also says it fixes some of our issues that we’ve reported.
If this is true, they are listening to their clients and delivering
Kudos Matrox

November 23, 2007 at 4:15 amColor is working!
One thing you need to know is that you need to set your output to full rez.
I’m using HDV, and set my output to 1080i HDV, aspect was wrong.
Once I set Color to the project settings, full 1080, the MXO outputted correctly.
I used “send to Color” from FCP.
Color and my MXO is awesome !!!!!!!!

So how did you do it? When I use Color from FCP I only get some red “envelops” and none is working as shown on tthe Apple site. I own a PowerPC G5: Processor: 2.1 GHz
L2-cache (per processor):512 KB Memory: 1,5 GB Busspeed: 700 MHz and an ATI Radeon X600 XT. Help would be appreciated. Thanks anyway -

December 5, 2007 at 6:37 pmHi,
First I upgraded my Color to version 1.0.2 from the Apple Updates. Then I got my hands on the beta drivers Matrox has available on their user forum.
Once both we updated, from FCP I selected “Send To…Color”
Within Color I selected the “uncompressed 1080i” option for the MXO.
I was working in HDV within FCP, however, the Color project settings are set to, I think FCP does this themselves, 1920×1080, when I found that out, I had no more aspect issue like I had when I selected an HDV video out within Color.

December 5, 2007 at 8:04 pmHi,
So if I am not mistaken I have to buy a Matrox MXO to run Color in FCP? It cannot be done without MXO?

December 5, 2007 at 8:21 pmYou can run Color. You just can’t view your output onto an external monitor with an AJA Kona, BlackMagic Decklink, AJA Io HD or an MXO.

But I still cannot see the sequence I’ve send to Color. Are there some special settings in FCP and Color I have to configure?
