MXO, MBP, and multiple monitors
About to buy a MBP and thinking about the MXO. Ideally, I’d like to edit using a 24″ Dell *and* have an LCD broadcast monitor (maybe another 24″ Dell) active through the MXO.
It doesn’t seem possible. Is there a workaround to use the DVI out of the MBP for a computer monitor, but still use the MXO for broadcast monitoring? Or am I stuck with either/or? Can I connect the MXO to the DVI port of the MBP and hook up the computer monitor to the Component Out of the MXO while using the DVI Out of the MXO for the broadcast monitor?
I ingest HDV through FW, so I’d like to have the MBP/MXO combo for portability, but I can’t stand the thought of editing on the MBP 17″ screen.

Try this out. I think it works with the MXO. I hope it works, I just ordered one. The only problem is the MXO does not work with FCP 6, yet. I was told by matrox that they are working on it.

Sorry, I meant the MXO does not work with the new MBP. It works with FCP 6, but not on the new MBP. Something about the graphics card.

I know that situation, I am still considering buying a Magma ExpressBox and putting another video card in there to be able to have the option of monitoring HDV and HD footage. ( https://magma.com/products/pciexpress/expressbox1/index.html )
