I need to take a FCP file and convert it into a jpeg 2000 and then wrap it in a MXF wrapper. I know how to convert into a jpeg 2000 file, however, I don’t know how to wrap it in a MXF wrapper. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you have Sony’s XDCam Transfer software installed on your system, you should be able to easily export the MXF file that you need by going to File > Export > Sony XDCam in FCP.

    JPEG2000, not XDCAM.

I am not aware of a software solution on the Mac that can wrap to MXF with JPEG2000 compression. I assume you need this for digital cinema. You should check DVS Clipster:

My bad… You’re correct. Using the XDCam MXF export functionality allows for limited compression types. Taking a closer look, it does allow you to do more than just XDCam formats but not much more.

Thanks for the tip. Clipster is a little out of the budget right now. Would Pronto work from the same company?
