  MXF naming conventions/workflow

  Hello-

  Just wondering what the best way to approach this is….

  Have shot 10-12 interviews on P2. Have then archived the .mxf files and then log & transferred to AppleProRes (proxy) to bring into FCP. Just now starting to cut and realizing that many of the reel names are the same. This, unfortunately, is due to the fact that they were all brought in in different ways (some through shotput, others dragged and dropped.) Clearly this common reel names issue will prove to be extremely problematic on the upres. Where is the best part in the workflow to rectify this? Do the mxf’s need to be relogged & transferred with the proper reel info? Can something be done with the .mxf files in terms of renaming so that they will link back correctly?
