MXF in FCP7
I shot footage on my Canon XF305 and when I log and transfer the MXF files into FCP7 , I am seeing what looks like drop outs all over the media. I am wondering if it’s a corrupted CF card or a file directory issue when I import into FCP. I copied the files to my hard drive and reused the cards so I am unsure the exact source of the problem. This has happened on two out of seven shoots with these cards so I doubt that’s it’s a card issue. But I’m not sure. Has anyone run into this problem and discovered the source? What have I done wrong?

Try a third party converter…a demo of it…to see if the cards still exhibit this behavior. I recommend EditReady by Divergentmedia.com. If the glitches are still there…then it might be a recording issue. If not…it’s that FCP 7 is old old old…and was actually discontinued before the 305 came out, so it might not be able to handle that format properly.
