  • MXF import to FCP7 ?

    Posted by Brian Mclean on August 6, 2012 at 8:07 pm

    I got some footage what contains a folder called:
    }CLP{

    Inside is a bunch of .MXF files.

    Does anyone know what plugin I need to convert these to import into FCP7?

    Thanks!

    Have You tried XDCam Transfer? I use to make .mov from .mxf but it was whe they were on XDCam disk. Maybe it will work with files fom hard drive.

    Turns out the footage was taken from a Nanoflash device.

    After searching for a few hours, I found out Premiere can open it.

    Yikes

    Just to be confusing, some Canon’s use MXF as well as Sony’s, but they’re not the same. I’ve got both manufacturers utilities on my system: for Sony MXFs it’ll be Import-XDCAM but if they’re Canon MXFs it’ll be Log & Transfer and select the format in the L&T preferences.
