I have a client that provided me a drive with already imported assets and some HDV and DV footage that needed to be digitized, which I have completed. I also received 4 dvds with mxf files on them which I cant access. I am running a G5 Dual 2.3 PPC. I have xdcam Transfer 2.7.1 software loaded but it seems to be missing a component called “FAM Driver” Is this why I cant access the material and if so how do I get it. I am running with the Leopard OS not Snow Leopard. Please advise

    Thanks, Bill

Bummer, too big to upload. I was going to transcode them for you. (I am sitting at the office doing a new build. BOOORRRRIIINGG!)

What version of FCP? Do you know what codec the mxf files are in?

Thanks for the almost offer. Does the fact that I seem to be missing the FAM driver have anything to do with this

Try opening in MPEG streamclip and get info on it. It should tell you.

There are newer versions of the Sony Transfer Software. You might want to try those. Perhaps it’s XDCam 422?

V2.12 has the FAM driver. You have v2.7
