I got some MXF files that I want to open in FCP 7. They came via a card reader transferred to HD. The folder has a sub folder titled }CLP{ that contains the MXF files and a file }STT{. This doesn’t look like what I saw in the tutorials…

Also tried to import the files to FCP and don’t see any option for Panasonic P2. What am I doing wrong???

    Thanks,

    Craig

    P2 Workflow with FCP 6

The new option is called LOG AND CAPTURE. Watch that tutorial.

That file format (CLP AND STT) is not Panasonic P2.

[Jeremy Garchow] “That file format (CLP AND STT) is not Panasonic P2.”

How did I miss that? CLP I registered as CLIP. Ignored STT.

    yeah, that isn’t Panasonic P2.

I suspect that they might have been shot with a camera output to a video recorder??? And I was hoping that because the file structure was similar to P2, I could ingest through Log & Transfer, but no luck. I’ll start looking for a utility to convert them to QT.

DOn’t suspect….find out. You gotta find out how this was recorded before you try anything.

That’s probably from a Convergent Design nanoFlash, so it’s probably some flavor of XDCAM.

Yes. That are the MFX from the NANo-flash.
They are supposed to be shoot for editing on a PC, but there are ways to manage them on FC.
    Download the manual from CD:

Yes thank you so much–looks like they were Nano/XDCAM files. The next thing for me to figure out is why the video imported beautifully but the audio is pegged and unusable, while the XDCAM transfer plays them clean and proper levels. Any suggestions? And thanks guys, it was good to know you were out there when I was panicking yesterday.
