MXF File Converter Fixes Frame Rate Issues?
I just ingested MXF files shot on a Panasonic 200 at 30p / 720 into my Media Composer Adrenaline. It looks great when I’m in a 30p format project, but I cannot mix this footage into my current timeline, which uses 60i hdv footage and was setup as an hdv project (my final cut will be 30i 4:3, but I just change the format setting and resize the hdv frames for component output). I found a lousy workaround on my own: I export the clips from the 30p project as 1920 x 1080 Quicktime movies and reimport to the Media Composer Adrenaline. This works, but it obviously takes forever and is totally inefficient from a storage perspective. Does anyone know of an MXF software solution? A Mac application that will convert 30p frame rate MXF files to 60i or another format that will work in my timeline? Also, does the latest version of the Adrenaline software address this issue and allow you to mix different frame rates in the same timeline? I also tried transcoding, which left me with huge looking talking heads, cut off at the lips! Help! Jerry in MIami
