I was trying to add some muzzle flashes in Sony Vegas but ran into a problem.

When I used motion tracking to line up the muzzle flash to the gun, it worked great. But only for one shot.

When I tried to line up the next shot, it screwed up the first shot.

How do I motion track for each shot without messing up the motion track of subsequent shots?

Vegas has no motion tracking capabilities (Track Motion and Pan/Crop don’t count as one) so it’s a good idea to describe how you did this and with what tool(s) for us to be able to help you.

You are probably trying to move the muzzle flash to a new location using track motion? Right? And you are using keyframes to move it to the next location? Be sure that your key frame conttroller is set to “hold“.

Yes, that is correct. I was using track motion.

I’ll try the “hold” setting and see if that works.
