I am running PP cs 5 on a dual core intel iMac and have come to the RAM’s brickwall. I have constructed a 1 hour video program in hd and I believe I am now beyond the capacity of my computer to easily load the video edit in its entirety anymore. Can I do now what I should have done earlier, i.e., build each chapter individually and then author together the chapters later?

Is there a recommended way to separate out each chapter of the complete program into 4 or 5 separate projects?

    Still plugging.

I don’t remember if CS5 has this but at least in the latest version there’s a “selection as premiere project” in the file – export list. Just select what you need in the project panel and choose that and it will make a new project with just the selected sequences.

I will check this morning. Fingers crossed. (Is this perhaps a similar function to cs 5’s Project manager?)

[Julian Lang] “Is this perhaps a similar function to cs 5’s Project manager?”

No. It doesn’t collect any media. It just makes a new project with only the items you select in the project panel.
