    Hi all.

Can someone direct me to any tutorial on creating a mussel flash from scratch inside After Effects 7.0?

Better yet….. Is someone out there kind enough to send me some high-res footage of mussel flashes in different poistions? (I cannot afford to pay for such at this time.)

Your help would really be appreciated, as I really need this ASAP.

    Thanks in advance.

    Chaz

P.S. I still would like to learn how to create mussel flashes from scrath.

ANDREW KRAMER…. I sent you an email a few days ago.

back on the main ae basics page, near the top… is an area called sticky posts. click the ‘common aefter efects questions!!! look here first’ link, scrool to the bottom to the free stuff section and click the detonation films link, they usually have free flashes.

i wouldn’t think that it is too hard to photoshop up a few flashes to composite in ae. or even just create an irrregular shapeed mask on a light yellow solid and add glow. the flash usually doesn’t animate much… it just flashes for a frame or two.

    Thanks Kevin.

I downloaded the low-res mussel flashes, but they to be high-res and 24P. I guess I can always render out the 30fps samples to 24p. Still, I need these to be high-res.

LOL, I read this whole thread and had no idea he was talking about “muzzle flashes”, I thought a “mussel flash” was some kind of AE lingo. (I had visions of a shellfish exposing itself…) I’m totally new to AE so I was really curious as to what kind of effect a mussel flash could be.

What’s your suggestion for someone that is completely new to the world of AE, but has solid basic editing experience?
