  • Music won’t import into Sony Vegas – help?

I’ve just got SV pro 9. I’d previously been using the trial and it had worked absolutely fine. Now, however, I’ve noticed that if I try and import the same itunes file it won’t work. Firstly I tried to drop it in and it said ‘None of the files dropped into vegas could be opened.’ I also tried importing manually and got the message “warning: an error occurred while opening one or more files. A stream could not be opened because it was unrecognized or corupt.”

This happens with every audio file I try and open now. It’s so frustrating. I did mess with a setting the other night, but now I can’t remember exactly what I did.

The music files shows in the project media section, but other than that, they won’t play or move into an audio track.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Ouch! I hate when that happens. 😉

You can complete reset Vegas by holding down the Ctrl+Shift keys while launching it from the desktop. It will ask you if you want to reset everything. Just click OK and it should come up the same as the first day that you installed it.

Thanks so much! It’s working just fine again now. That’s a handy tip!
