Hello, I’m back at the COW, it’s been awhile. Anyways, I was wanting to know if anyone had any tips on how to acheive this effect. I am not sure the best way to describe it, but I would call it a “Dissolve Flash” It appears quite often in Music Videos in use of flashbacks. For example, numerous times in the Rascal Flatts – “What Hurts The Most” video. I will give you the YouTube link.

The effect I am trying to describe can be seen:
    minutes/seconds – 1:13, 1:24, 3:15, 3:41, 3:49.

Please help, it seems like it would be relatively easy, just needs to be used appropriately. Thanks, Adam

I don’t have access to AE right now but look for an effect called “Exposure” I believe it allows you to ramp the brightness in a similar way.

That’s exactly what I was trying to describe. The one I liked best was at min. 1:46-1:48. I really appreciate everyone else’s response, but it seemed as if everyone was describing a “camera flash” which is pretty easy to do. This effect is almost like a “film burn” effect. check out min. 1:46-1:48. Is there a plug-in for that effect. Thanks in advance. -Adam
