I’ve a number of small music artists/bands that are willing to give me a large number of music pieces to use as we see fit, royalty and rights free, with only payment being crediting for the company mixing/producing the songs. Does anyone have a blanket talent release form that I may use as a template to ensure we’re not sued in case someone changes their mind? email me at le*****@***il.com

    Thanks!

    They can sue regardless.

There’s more than one license involved: sync, festival, distribution. Other folks will have fancier terms, but that’s the gist. Probably you’ll need more than a boilerplate, and you might be walking a fine line between exploitation and bona fide business practice — meaning you could lose the aforementioned suit at a tipping point of increasing revenue without just compensation. How much revenue is unjust? And what is exploitation are all complicated legal issues to avoid now.

Is there any way it might be a work for hire agreement?
