I’m creating a short promo for a product line to be shown in stores as a loop. Just wondering if I can use any music I want, or if I need to obtain a license to use certain music. Say I want a Metallica song used in the promo, since its not being shown on television or a dvd, just as a promo in a store, is it ok to use, or do I need a license? Any info on licensing music for certain situations would be helpful, thank you.

There is no situation where you can use copywritten material without permission. If you search the Cow’s business & marketing forum you’ll find info about this.
