July 30, 2007 at 1:56 amThis raises another issue: the use of music-“creation” software. Years ago I received a copy of Acid, but have never taken the time to learn how to use it. In following the leads from this thread I’ve noticed that a couple of libraries talk about how you can customize the tracks.
In your experience, does music-creation or music-customization software work? In a sense almost any user of library music customizes it, through selection of a portion of a track, fade-in/out, & blending cuts. But this takes it to a different level.

July 30, 2007 at 8:07 amHi
I’ve got a full music score for a couple of 1 hour shows out of GarageBand relatively painlessly.
And inumerable shorter music links and bridges, and DVD Menu underscores as well.
I would only class myself as partially musically literate 😉 but the ability to assign any musical instrument to any GB midi loop makes it easy to get amazing ensemble sounds out of the software, with only a little fiddling. The Symphony Orchestra and World Music Jam packs add a lot of excellent instrument generators, as well as their audio and midi loops.
