Music dropping out
I am working in FCP 7.02 on a Quad core intel mac. I am noticing that music (which is aif 48khz 16 bit) seems to be dropping out in my sequences. Meaning suddenly the music which was there last time I was working is suddenly gone. I don’t mean the tracks are gone, but when you play the sequence the music will be playing and then suddenly drop out for a few seconds or the rest of the track. When I match frame the track it shows this as well that there is just nothing there for certain parts of the track for which I know music exists. If I check the original file everything is fine, and if I re-insert the track from the original into the timeline everything is fine. This makes me worry because I can’t check every second of all my music every time I want to output to make sure it is all there. I have tried relinking the music and it makes no difference. I have also trashed my preferences as well.
We have 2 other edit rooms with identical media and they have no problem with my sequences.
Any ideas?

Sounds like a good time to trash your preferences. Also, if you have an I/O device such as a Kona or Blackmagic, this would be the time to uninstall and reinstall their drivers.

Trash your audio render files.

The advice above is excellent, but if the problem persists, try an audio mixdown: Sequence Menu > Render Only > Mixdown.
