Just bought a SmartSound disk, and found their “Express Track” software very nice and straightforward for rapidly searching for music. (Haven’t even bought their fancy Pro upgrade yet.)

Now I want something like that for all the other music libraries I own.

Several months ago I put my rather large music and sound effects library on hard drive. My Mac wants to use iTunes for auditioning when I am looking for a track.

But iTunes sometimes can’t locate the track. Sometimes I wind up with three copies of the same track in iTunes, only one of which works.

    1. I’ve Googled the iTunes problem and found much company, though no solution. Anybody here solve this problem?
    2. Having enjoyed SmartSound’s Express Track, I wonder whether there is something else out there similar.

I’d want to be able to write notes, which would be searchable, so that I can make my next search more efficient, annotate which tracks I’ve used in which shows, etc.
