I need to deliver split audio masters with mix/voice/music and am having a bit of struggle figuring out the best way to go about it. My specific questions are:

    – Is there a way to make a stereo sequence multi-track, or do I have to create new sequences and copy/paste.

    – Is there a way to assign my voice tracks and music tracks to both a sub-mix and also to the main mix without duplicating them?

I’d love to be able to do this in Premiere as between FCP, PP, DaVinci, and Audition I find myself with a ridiculous and expanding number of .xml files for each of the ~50 timelines I’ll have in a job.

I have had the same delivery requirements and can’t figure this out in Premiere either. It looks like all you can export are either mono or stereo QT files. I’ve had to export my final video from Premiere, then import it into FCP 7 with my final audio files and export from there for a finished multitrack QT file (one with 5.1 mono tracks and stereo comp tracks along with the finished video).

I’d be very interested if anyone has any suggestions regarding this, as Larry Jordan seemed to indicate this was a shortcoming of both Premiere and Media Encoder as of now…

This is a shortcoming of Premiere…but something that Avid finally added in Media Composer 6. Prior to that I had to take the Avid video export and bring that into FCP with the audio and do the multitrack exprot there. That’s what you’ll have to do now with PPro.

So FCP and Avid have it. Premiere…hopefully soon.

Wow. Even Avid has been late to this game, but at least they finally added it in MC6 (I have Symphony 6, so I’ll look for it there). I really hope Adobe addresses this in version 6.5! Along with a few other things, it’s one of the biggest shortcomings I’ve yet encountered while transitioning from FCP 7 (another being the apparent lack of multitrack timecode displays in the timeline)

    Thanks for the info, Shane…

Ahh yes, this and a conformable multi-cam and I’d live much more simply…
