I know this seems basic, BUT,

I am sending a timeline out the SDI to D-Beta with KONA2.

Sequence has FOUR tracks of audio. I am doing a direct out
    1 to 1
    2 to 2
    3 to 3
    4 to 4
When I lay tones on all four tracks and look at it in the Audio Tool FCP still only sees it as two tracks on output
I have the sequence set to DUAL MONO on both channels.

    Am I missing something here?

    Very odd.

If I create a new sequence and copy paste the material in then the four tacking works, but if I change the setting s of an existing sequence then it does not work.

I’ll send this in a s a feature request for sure.

Interesting!! You just described an old bug fix.

4 channel output has been fine since FCP4.x (before 4.5 if I remember correctly).
Only thing I can think of, other than upgrading software, it preference trashing or a complete reinstall of FCP5.

I have FCP 5 on a completely new system with clean install. Maybe I can trash prefs but it threw for a bit of a loop. I don’t like bugs, but this one is bearable as long as it is this easy to troubleshoot.

    Thanks,

I’ll try trashig prefs and the POA cache.

I lay out to tape all the time this way. Sequence is 4 channel mono. But I’m using a Decklink Extereme. I don’t think It’s a specific FC5 bug.

Are you sure you set up the Audio Output controls in FCP for 4 channel? I’m doing four channel output all the time with our shows here with no issues.
