Multiple transfers of P2 footage
For some reason log and transfer is importing multiple versions of the same P2 sourced clip. Moving from Firewire 800 drive onto a SATA RAID.
Checked original P2 clips out in Panasonic P2CMS application, no issues there. Something seems buggy about FCP 7.0
Never had this problem in the last two years using FCP 2.

Sounds like you haven’t loaded all the cards at one time. If you load an incomplete spanned clip and transfer it, then load up another card with the rest of the span and transfer it, you could get duplicate media.

Can you define spanned, is that when you have two cars in the camera and they switch mid shot?
I was only using one card at a time.

That’s one way, yes. Also, if a take goes over 4GBs in disk space, a file can become spanned. The file format on P2 cards is FAT32 so it only supports files that are under 4GBs. If a file is recorded long enough to go over 4GBs, then the two (or more) clips are tied together through metadata.
