Multiple synced audio clips
Hi, hope this isn’t obvious, have spent a long time searching for answers before posting.
I have filmed my video and audio using separate devices and I am now trying to create a merged clip. I understand the process (sync, link, merge) but it fails for me because I want to merge several audio clips to different parts of the video. i.e.
v1: |<--------------------- my video ---------------->|
a1: |<------------- muted original audio 1 ---------->|
a2: |<------------- muted original audio 2 ---------->|
a3: |<- synced audio 1->| |<-synced audio 2->| etc…I can’t link them all together.
Is there a way to make the whole lot into just one merged clip? Just rendering it out seems a bit clumsy, and I’m finding it a bit of a pain to start using nested sequence.

How about syncing all your audio clips to your video clip in a timeline. Then export only the audio to one long file, and bring that back in, then merge that combined long audio file as a merged clip.

Nice idea, only problem is that my audio clips are very sparse compared to the diagram. So I’d be eating up a lot of disk with silence.
Perhaps this is FCP trying to tell me that I should be working with individual clips for each part of the video that has a different audio track?
