Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to place more than one multiclip in a sequence and have each of the multiclips editable. I want to have different multiclips on different layers and being able to edit them individually as I toggle them on and off. So far my experience with this has been that the multiclips I put down on a sequence in the first video track become the only multiclips I am able to view in multicam view. The other multiclips on different tracks don’t play back properly. When I turn off the multiclip on video track 1 and try to work with a clip on a track above it, I am not able to view my cameras. In multicam playabck I can only see a black frame on the left side and my selected camera visible on the right side. When I match frame my non-working multiclips and view them in the preview monitor I can watch all of the cameras just fine so I know my multiclips are functioning.

It seems like you can only play back in multicam mode with your multiclips on video track 1, and not when different multiclips are layered on both video track 1 and 2 (or 3, 4, etc…). For me that does not work as I am working on a dance performance where I have four takes of the same performance set to the same music which I would like to intercut. By having the tracks layered I can select the best take from the best point in time of the music and just turn that on and the other tracks off. Any suggestions?

So I assume you have 4 takes, but each take is multiple angles?

It appears that Premiere will only properly multicam sequences if they are all in the same layer of video – whatever layer the first multicam of the sequence is, lowest taking precedence.

I would convert your video to 640×480, multicam all your cameras together (hard drive willing) and do a larger single multicam. Once it’s rough edited, you can reconnect your high res original footage.

Thank you Angelo. That’s a fine suggestion. According to a response from the Adobe Community, multicam sequences have to be on the v1 track to work.
